ASL Involvement

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to get some brief feedback from everyone on how you would like to be involved with ASL this semester. As mentioned in the welcome message we are looking at moving to a more online intensive rather than physical meeting plan for our members this semester. We held two meetings on campus last semester and our attendance at both was pretty low; for this reason we want to find a better way to get the information to everyone that is conveinent for them. We have talked about having any meetings we hold this semester published as web casts that can be posted through our page on black board. This will not only still allow for people to be present on campus if they wish, but also allow those of you at home to interact with the participants of the meeting while it is happening via your computer. (These can also be saved on the site for later viewing without interaction if you're not available during that window of time.) My main concern is that many of you have told me in the past that you joined ASL to meet more students like yourself so I am worried that taking this group to an online state will lessen those opportunities. To help myself and the other officers decide the correct route to choose please take a few moments to briefly answer the following questions. Also, if you have anything else you'd like to state pertaining to this idea that was not mentioned....the floor is yours.1.) If meetings are held on campus this semester would you attend?2.) If so, what days are more convienent for you: M/W or T/TH?3.) Would you be interested in viewing webcasts of meetings?4.) Are there any social events, even one evening outside of school time, that you would like to see happen with ASL this semester? Any suggestions?5.) If a "Getting to Know You" opportunity were set up on black board where ASL members could post a picture of themselves, share some background information, and open participaton with other members was offered would you get involved and post your information?I know this seems like a lot of information, but we would really appreciate your feedback. Remember, this society is for you and we want to make sure that we are meeting all your needs as nontraditional, HONOR, students here on campus. Thanks, AmandaASL President
